The village’s reconstruction-focused Art Deco history includes Saint Michael’s Church in Haucourt and the former Lourdeaux Café at the entrance to Haucourt. The Vis-en-Artois Memorial bears the names of 9,813 English, Irish and South African soldiers who fell between August and the Armistice in the Somme and Artois and whose bodies were not recovered.
