Bermicourt: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The church of Bermicourt was partially destroyed in 1559. Its choir dates from the 16th century, more precisely from 1560, and has survived to this day. Documents from the 15th century show that the church was placed under the patronage of Notre-Dame and dedicated to Sainte-Marie.

Culture

On the eve of the offensive, the British Tank Corps under General Elles set up its headquarters at the Château de Bermicourt, owned by Count Jean de Hauteclocque, and remained there until the end of the war. During a second Franco-British ceremony, a faithful replica of the small tank was reinstalled in Bermicourt. The Tank Corps memorial is located in the car park of La Cour de Rémi; step-free access is available.

Bermicourt is part of the landscape area “La Vallée de la Ternoise et ses versants de St-Pol à Hesdin et le vallon de Bergueneuse”, a type 2 continental ZNIEFF area.

The guided hike “À la découverte de Bermicourt” on 14 August 2024 crossed one of the many plateaus of Ternois and included a stop at La Cour de Rémi. It lasted 2.5 hours, covered 8 km, involved 50 m of positive elevation gain, started at the church car park and cost 4 euros.

Activities

At the 2023 edition of Cycl’Abeille, the road cycling, mountain biking and hiking routes started in Bermicourt at La Cour de Rémi; the programme offered road cycling routes of 45, 75, 90 and 110 km, mountain biking routes of 30 and 50 km, and hiking routes of 6 and 13 km.

Cuisine

La Grange at La Cour de Rémi offers a special dining service on Sunday evenings from 1 May to 25 August, by reservation, in the garden barn, with grilled dishes, wood-fired chicken and other pork dishes to share.

The Abbaye de Belval monastery is located near Bermicourt. Parc du chàteau, a park, is also nearby.
