The Château de Beauvoir in Beauvoir-Wavans was built in 1783 as the residence of the de Beaulaincourt family by the architect Antoine du Bois. The historic estate comprises a residential building, agricultural outbuildings, a kitchen garden and a park. Since 2 February 2016, the Château de Beauvoir has been protected in its entirety; the protection covers the pavilions, all outbuildings, the kitchen garden, the courtyard of honour, the park, the enclosing walls and their gates.

Culture

In the Church of Saint-Vaast, a statue of the Virgin and Child stands on a cabinet in the sacristy. The statue Vierge à l'Enfant is made of carved, gilded and polychrome-painted wood and dates from the first half of the 19th century. It is listed as a protected historic object; this listing is dated 7 January 1981.

History

The English military cemetery of Beauvoir-Wavans contains 43 graves of British soldiers and one grave of a German soldier. It was established in 1918 near the Drucas military hospital. During the First World War, Château Drucas was converted into a military hospital designated Casualty Clearing Station 21. James McCudden died on 9 July 1918 at the military hospital of Château Drucas.

Beauvoir-Wavans is stage 3 of the cultural heritage route A railway line turned hiking trail. The former Beauvoir-Wavans railway station no longer exists today.
