The former Premonstratensian abbey is located on the Place du Haut in Licques. Its church dates from the first half of the 18th century and is currently a parish church.

Culture and History

The remains of Licques Castle include a dovecote, which is the surviving part of a polygonal tower dating from the 11th or 12th century.

Walking Trails

The Sentier du Cah-Licqu’Co passes through Cahen, Licques and Courtebourne and is 11 km long. The Sentier des Trois-Calvaires is 12 km long.

“À la découverte de Licques” is a historical walk that begins at the Abbaye de Licques. One section of the historical route follows a country track now lined with pastures; this is where the “Le Portel-Bonningues” railway line once ran.

Mont Cahen offers panoramic views over the Pays de Licques and the Boulonnais-Bocage.

Regional Traditions

The Fête de la Dinde takes place in Licques every year in December. A 16 km-long route was planned for the 2026 Balade Gourmande; the event included five tasting stations where visitors could discover local products. Depending on the weather conditions, the route could be adjusted.

Licques Volailles offers morning tours of the breeding facilities, slaughterhouse and packaging facilities by prior reservation.
