Clairmarais: Holiday Apartments and Houses

Waterways, wet woodland and historic sites characterise Clairmarais. The Sentier du Blongios is 2.8 km long, open from 15 March to 15 December and accessible to people with reduced mobility.
Nature
The Étangs du Romelaëre National Nature Reserve was created from former peat bogs. Their exploitation, mainly in the 19th century, led to the formation of the area's various bodies of water.
The Sentier du Cormoran is 4 km long and leads to an ornithological observation point.
The Forêt de Rihoult-Clairmarais covers 1,200 hectares of wet oak woodland. Grey herons, wild boar and deer are found there; grey herons remain in this forest from March to June. The Étang d'Harchelles was created by monks.
Culture and History
The former Cistercian abbey of Clairmarais is protected as a historic monument; it was listed as a protected monument on 2 December 1946 and 3 July 1987. The protected complex includes partially medieval remains of the abbey entrance, with the gatehouse and former guest buildings, including the chapel.
The Grotte de Clairmarais is an important pilgrimage site.
Activities
Parcours Aventure is an orienteering activity by rowing boat in the Audomarois marshes of Clairmarais.
La Grange Nature is located in the heart of the Audomarois marshes, is run by Eden 62 and offers year-round exhibitions, activities and conferences on the landscapes, fauna and flora of the natural areas of the Pas-de-Calais département.
Trott’in Clairmarais offers discovery tours through the marshes and the outskirts of Saint-Omer on all-terrain electric scooters; several formats are available to people aged 12 and over.
Les Belles Échappées offers discovery tours in Hauts-de-France with Citroën 2CVs, VW Combis and electric vintage two-wheelers.

The Brasserie Abbaye de Clairmarais brews craft beer at the Ferme de l’Abbaye and offers tours and tastings by reservation.
