At the Archéosite de Montans, Gallo-Roman potters are presented through archaeological objects and life-size reconstructions. The Archéosite also displays Terra Sigillata pottery that was produced in Montans and exported along the entire Atlantic coast during the first two centuries of our era. Temporary exhibitions, activities, lectures, performances and educational workshops take place there throughout the year.

The Church of Saint Martin in Montans is considered an important Romanesque church in the Gaillacois and has an extensive, almost circular apse.

The Oenorando® route Sentier de la Sigillée is a moderately difficult hiking trail covering 5.3 km, with a stated duration of 1 hour and 30 minutes. It leads to Montans, which was an important centre for the production of Terra Sigillata in Gallo-Roman times, and combines the Gaillac wine landscapes with ancient cultural heritage.

Nature and Trails

The Sentier autour de l'eau explores natural habitats associated with water around the Plan d'eau des Teulières in Montans. The route passes a wetland fed by springs and a bamboo grove before returning to the municipal lake. The habitats along the trail make it possible to observe a variety of plants and birds during the walk.

Domaine Carcenac offers reception and wine tastings from Monday to Saturday throughout the year, as well as tours of the estate by prior reservation. The Pass Vigneron at Domaine Carcenac includes a guided walk through the vineyards, explanations of winemaking in the cellar and a wine tasting.
