The municipal Musée du Cuivre was founded in 1986 and completely renovated in 2020. It explains the production of copper objects – from the raw material processed in the valley region to the everyday items completed in the village.

Lo camy des martinets opened in summer 2023 and presents the history of the mills and forge works in the Sor Valley between Les Cammazes and Durfort. The route has two large information panels in the village, as well as smaller panels along the road at every site where a forge works is or once was located.

Castlar is the former fortified village of Durfort, which was inhabited from the 12th to the 14th century.

Getting Around

The first two kilometres of the road from Durfort towards Malamort are suitable for a walk. The Gouffre de Malamort–Via Ferrata can be reached from Durfort via the D44 towards Les Cammazes; parking is available at the first bend, after which you walk up the path.

The area around Durfort is suitable for collecting mushrooms and chestnuts, as well as for walks.

The historic site of Abbaye Royale de la Rode is located in the vicinity of Durfort. In the wider region around Durfort are the historic site of Abbaye de Villelongue, Chateau d'Aiguefonde, the historic site of Abbaye Saint-Pierre à Montolieu, the summit of Tertre de Co de David, Pic de Montaud mountain, the summit of le Poumaïrol, and the summit of Plateau du Sambrès.
