Espère: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Church of Saint-Laurent in Espère was built in 1877 in the Neo-Romanesque and Neo-Gothic styles. The choir, crossing and two side chapels feature extensive painted decoration.

Culture

During the Second World War, the Domaine de Labarthe provided refuge for numerous refugees. It is part of Espère's oldest cultural heritage and is located on today's D811, the former Voie Impériale.

Landscape

The stone houses of Espère lie above the green Reignac Valley. The path to Mont Rixou forms part of the Voie Romaine, the Roman road. Some hiking trails from Espère may follow the Voie Romaine and cross Mont Rixou.

On the Mont Rixou plateau near Crayssac, there is a Roman well. It supplied the Roman legions that used this road or camped nearby.
