Culture
The Église Saint-Saturnin in Pouzac is classified as a historic monument. Its construction began in 1548 after an earlier building was destroyed by fire. The portal bears the year 1563, while the two northern chapels date from 1588. The church has a wooden vault painted by Jean Catau. A fortified wall with a gate encloses the cemetery.
The Château de l’Angle is a neoclassical building constructed in 1840. The school’s bell tower is also part of Pouzac’s characteristic village landscape, with its two bell towers.
The Église Saint-Saturnin is brought to life through explanations provided by passionate guides from the Maison des Ferrère et du baroque pyrénéen. Baroque walks and tours of the church take place in July, August and September.
Nature
The Golf de Bigorre in Pouzac is an 18-hole golf course covering 59 hectares. The course was designed in 1991 by Olivier Brizon. It is set in natural surroundings opposite the Pic du Midi de Bigorre and the Pyrenean mountain range.
Traditions
The Balade autour du patrimoine in Pouzac is a walking tour of the village’s historical and cultural sites. The Jambonnade is Pouzac’s traditional summer festival; its 45th edition took place there from 25 to 27 July 2025.
Activities
The Centre équestre la Gailleste covers 10 hectares and has a large riding arena, an official 60 × 20 metre dressage arena, a 40 × 20 metre indoor riding arena, paddocks and stalls, as well as direct access to outdoor areas. The centre offers horse riding as a leisure activity, for competitions and on trail rides in the Pyrenees.
