History

The Château d’Antin is a fortification west of the village. The site of a medieval castle that belonged to the d’Antin family from the 14th to the 16th century is now home to the presbytery and the school.

The Église de Poueyferré was built in 1867. The older church, on whose ruins it was built, stood on the Way of St. James and was completely devastated in 1569 by Montgomery’s Huguenot troops.

Near the ruins of Saint-Germes Abbey stands an old church dedicated to Saint Germier, Bishop of Toulouse in the 7th century.
