The PR / Pic du Gar route runs through the area of Bezins-Garraux, Eup and Boutx. Depending on the starting point, it is approximately 13.8 to 17.5 kilometres long, has an elevation gain of 1,500 to 1,800 metres and takes approximately 7.5 to 9 hours.

The Saint-Béat sector has just under 200 kilometres of marked trails and is crossed by the long-distance hiking trails GR 10 and GR 86.

Nature

The ZNIEFF area “La Garonne de la frontière franco-espagnole jusqu'à Montréjeau” includes the riverbed of the Garonne, wooded riverbanks and adjoining rock formations from the French-Spanish border to Montréjeau, and explicitly includes Eup.

Near Eup, ophite rock formations at Pouy du Calvaire obstruct the flow of the Garonne.

Pic Saillant, Pic du Gar, Pic de Cresp and Sommet des Parets are peaks in the vicinity of Eup.

Culture

The Église Saint-Michel in Eup contains a Gallo-Roman funerary urn basin. This funerary urn basin has been protected as a movable object since 6 December 2010.

The Basilique Saint-Just is a church in the vicinity of Eup. The Cathédrale Notre-Dame, a church, is also located nearby. The Abbaye de Bonnefont en Comminges, a historic site, is located in the wider regional surroundings of Eup. Tradition

The Brandon in Eup is a tradition involving Midsummer bonfires at the summer solstice. Large logs prepared on site are lit at night.
