History
The Church of Saint-André de Crémens stands in an isolated location in the east of the municipality of Magnan. It is built largely of rammed earth and was listed as a historic monument by decree on 7 December 1976. It is said to have been rebuilt in the 18th century on the foundations of a Romanesque predecessor church that was destroyed in the 16th century; at the same time, reconstruction in the 17th century is considered likely.
The Church of Saint-Jean-Baptiste de Daunian in Magnan is a pastoral chapel dating approximately from the 11th century and built largely of unfired earth.
Culture
Magnan's village church is dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. It has a Romanesque apse base and was extensively remodelled in 1860 and 1861.
Enjoyment and Tradition
The Domaine de Lassalle in Magnan offers groups and individuals a cellar tour with a free tasting of Armagnac. During a visit, Jean Duclavé can explain how the distillation equipment works, together with Gascon traditions.
Dulhoste Sabine uses the Baco grape variety for all distillations and has 12 vintages.
