The Musée du textile et du peigne en corne is located in the Dumons factory, one of Lavelanet’s first textile factories, dating from the 19th century. The museum presents the production steps and methods used to make horn combs and fabrics. It combines a self-guided section with a guided tour, complemented by videos and demonstrations.

History
The Romanesque Chapelle Saint Sernin de Bensa has a semicircular-vaulted apse dating from the 12th century, as well as buttresses from the 15th century.
The Église Notre Dame de l’Assomption was built in the 12th century, destroyed and rebuilt in the 17th century, and is Gothic in style.
Paths and landscape
The Voie verte de Lavelanet à Mirepoix is 38 kilometres long and runs from Mirepoix to Lavelanet. It is accessible every day throughout the year and follows a former railway line that has been converted into a route for walking, horseback riding, and cycling with mountain bikes and VTC bicycles.
A path leads to the Oratoire de Sainte-Ruffine; the round trip takes about one hour. From the Oratoire de Sainte-Ruffine, there is a view of Lavelanet and the peaks of the Tabe Massif.
Local life
Lavelanet’s market offers locally grown fruit and vegetables, cheese, fresh products such as meat, charcuterie and fish, spices, textiles, leather goods, and handicrafts.
“Raconte-moi Lavelanet” is a historical festival and stage show featuring heritage discoveries on the first weekend of July.
