The Eglise de Salau is a church in Couflens built in the 12th century and classified as a French historic monument since 4 April 1911.
The former school in the village of Salau houses a permanent exhibition about the Salau mine on the ground floor. It presents the significance of tungsten, the history of the mine and the impact of mining on the residents of Ariège at that time.
The Port de Salau was an important transit point between France and Spain. In the 12th century, the Knights Hospitaller built a hospice there for passing pilgrims.

Hiking and Nature
The signposted circular hike to the Cascade de Léziou begins at the car park on the track to the Port de Salau at an altitude of 850 metres, takes 1 hour and 30 minutes and is 3.5 kilometres long. It reaches its highest point at 980 metres; at the end, a small path leads to the foot of the waterfall.
The summit of Lane Formente is located in the immediate vicinity of Couflens. The surrounding area is also home to the summits of Pic de Montagnol, Pic de Montalt and Cap de Hoque Prégonne.
The Cirque d'Anglade provides a refuge for numerous izards.
