Moulis: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Moulis extends along both sides of the Lez River and lies at altitudes between 420 and 1,600 metres. Anyone wishing to rent a holiday apartment in Moulis plans their stay with this location as the destination.

Nature

Moulis is home to the Cave of Aubert, also known as Sendé Cave, as well as the Cascade d’Aubert. Moulis is also one of the seven municipalities in the Natura 2000 site FR7300836.

Culture

The Chapel of Luzenac dates back to the 12th century, was extended in the 15th century and has a twelve-sided bell tower in the Byzantine style. The Église de Luzenac displays features of Romanesque architecture.

The Église Saint-Jacques d’Aubert is one of three surviving religious buildings from the municipality of Moulis’s original four churches and two Romanesque chapels. The Journées du Marbre, organised in summer, include meetings with sculptors and tours of the quarry.

In Luzenac, visitors can sample the raw-milk cheese Le Moulis after visiting the Pile Romaine. In Pouech, the farm-produced raw-milk cheese Le Cazalou is available to discover.

Hiking and Experiences

The GR 78 long-distance hiking trail, which is also a European Way of St. James, passes through Moulis. The municipality of Moulis promotes the “Randonnée des 3 Pics” as a hiking route and the circular trail “Circuit du renard qui se mord la queue” also as a hiking route.

The Roc’Aventure high-rope course above the Aubert Gorge includes, among other features, monkey bridges, walkways, zip lines up to 200 metres long, handrails and a via ferrata; some sections run up to 100 metres above the ground.
