The small river La Niche takes in the streams Champée, Prés Roussel and La Racine before flowing into the Moselle at Arches.
Culture
The Church of Saint-Amé in Raon-aux-Bois houses an altarpiece dating from 1731. This altarpiece was classified as religious heritage among the historic monuments in 1964. The church also has fourteen Stations of the Cross carved from stone, a baptismal font dating from 1867, and a reliquary of Saint Del containing his remains.
Other structures include the Pont du Fouxel, which was built on a rock in 1864, and the Pont du Vitrier, located in the forest near Les Trayes.
Eleven wayside crosses still stand in Raon-aux-Bois as part of the local minor heritage. There are also around thirty fountains that form part of the local minor heritage. Saint Del is celebrated in Raon-aux-Bois every year on the first Saturday in March.
Activities
The “Hêtre zen” trail includes a redesigned picnic area with a stage and grandstands. The trail features family-oriented play, awareness-raising and observation areas and was inaugurated in Raon-aux-Bois on 31 May 2025.
For mountain bikers, there is circular route no. 29 Le Bambois: the 8.3-kilometre loop in Raon-aux-Bois is easy and marked blue by the FFC. Mountain-bike route no. 28 Le Tour du Village, on the other hand, is a 22.4-kilometre loop in Raon-aux-Bois that is considered challenging and is signposted with red FFC markings.
