The summit of Saint-Mont is a 77-hectare area that has been protected and registered since 25 January 1944. Le Saint-Mont reaches an altitude of 675 m and offers a viewpoint over the Pays de Remiremont and the Vosges.
Culture and History
Vieux Saint-Amé is associated with the first church of Saint-Amé and a cemetery that was used until 1724. A small chapel was built in 1852 on the site of the former church of Le Saint-Mont, becoming a pilgrimage destination.
The Église de Saint-Amé was built between 1724 and 1726. It has a wrought-iron communion rail dating from 1774, classified as a historic monument since 1956, and can be visited free of charge and individually without a guide.

The Sentier des carrières is accessible from the car park at the Saint-Amé stadium and is marked with a red ring. It is a difficult 10 km hike with an elevation gain of 350 m and a duration of approximately three hours. The Carrières de Saint-Amé were established in 1850 to supply paving stones to Paris during the era of the Haussmann boulevards.
Le Poterlacat au fil de l'eau is an easy 1.9 km path taking 45 minutes, with an elevation gain of 18 m. It also follows the fishing route along the Cleurie known as Passion Truite Fario. The Chapelle du Vieux Saint-Amé can be reached on foot from Saint-Étienne-lès-Remiremont via a hiking route; the route is available from the tourist office and in the Remiremont Plombières Tourisme app.
The Sentier adapté pour tous is a 0.8 km path taking approximately 30 minutes, with an elevation gain of 20 m. It is marked with a fox on a blue background and includes a sandy path and a botanical educational trail.
The Sentier du patrimoine is a 12.4 km hiking trail with an elevation gain of 464 m and a duration of approximately 3 hours 50 minutes. It leads along the Sentier des moines towards the Pont des Fées and Le Saint-Mont, as well as towards the Chapelle du Vieux Saint-Amé.
