History

The grounds of the Vieux Château contain the Tour de la Chapelle, the Tour de la prison and a connecting wall. The site is a green area between Longwy-Haut and Longwy-Bas, with orchards and an arboretum.

The Puits de Siège was built from 1679 to 1690 and is 60 metres deep. It is the only surviving one of five wells formerly constructed in Longwy. Today, it houses the Grand Longwy Tourist Office.

The Church of Saint-Dagobert was built in 1683. It has Art Deco stained-glass windows, an organ by François Didier dating from 1926, and a statue of Notre Dame de Longwy from the 18th century.

Culture

The Musée des Émaux et Faïences de Longwy is located in a former military bakery. It displays faience produced from 1798 onwards, as well as enamelwork that emerged in the early 1870s. The museum also houses the Vernaujou-Brunet couple's collection, comprising more than 200 works in Longwy enamel.

The Musée des Fers à Repasser houses a collection of 3,700 irons and 105 radiators or heating stoves. The objects illustrate the history of the iron from the 15th century to the present day. After making a reservation with the Tourist Office, the museum is accessible to groups of four or more people.

Nature

The Parc des Récollets features avenues lined with plane trees, a pond, a fountain, as well as bridges and footbridges over the canalised Chiers. Today, the Parc des Récollets is a public garden.
