Gondreville lies on the right bank of the Moselle. The A31 motorway runs through the central part of the town. At the same time, the origins of Gondreville’s old town date back to the Gallo-Roman period.

In the 12th century, Gondreville became a fortress of the Dukes of Lorraine and remained one until 1766. The former courthouse has also been preserved in the old town. Gondreville’s old town can only be viewed from the outside as part of self-guided tours.
