Saint-Germain-les-Vergnes is situated on a ridge above the valleys of the Couze and the Maumont Noir. The Étang de Lachamp lies between Favars and Saint-Germain-les-Vergnes, covers 13 hectares in a wooded, tranquil setting and is located on a former peatland. It is home to waterfowl, wetlands and typical plants.

At the Étang de Lachamp, picnic tables and benches are provided in shaded areas. Swimming is prohibited. For 2026, fishing was scheduled from sunrise on 14 March until sunset on 5 October.

The „Circuit n°2 – Chemins des 3 Corrèzes“ circular trail leads through orchards and meadows to Saint-Germain-les-Vergnes. At the Chadebec leisure area, there is a fitness trail by the water.
