Trails
The long-distance hiking trail Tour de Cerdagne GR®P passes through Err. Numerous signposted walking and hiking trails start from the village of Err and the Puigmal area. The former Err-Puigmal ski resort offers opportunities for walks in winter and summer. The Les Crêtes du Puigmal route leads to Puigmal d’Err and includes Puigmal de Llo and petit Puigmal de Sègre. The Puigmal trail routes lead to villages, the Cerdanya plateau, forests and high-altitude landscapes, as well as to peaks and the border ridge.
Cycling and Nordic walking
The Puigmal Pyrénées-Cerdagne cycling destination has eight signposted mountain bike routes ranging in difficulty from green to black. The Puigmal Pyrénées-Cerdagne Nordic walking destination offers five routes for all ability levels, including an introductory route with technical exercises. A Saillagouse–Err connection starting at the Ecobike bicycle rental shop connects cyclists with the other Puigmal mountain bike routes.
Culture and history
The Chapelle Notre-Dame houses the statue of the seated Virgin and Child, known as Notre-Dame d’Err. It dates from the first quarter of the 13th century. Every year on 2 July, the statue of Notre-Dame d’Err is carried in a procession.
The Museu Municipal De LlÃvia, a museum, is located in the vicinity of Err. The peaks Roc de Carbanet, Puig d’Estaques, Pic de Segalera and l’Hippopotame are also located near Err. The ancient site Pedra Dreta and the Santuari de Núria sanctuary are also located in the area around Err.
