Albaret-Sainte-Marie: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
On the heights of the village of Albaret-Sainte-Marie stand the Sainte-Mary Church and the Croix des Prêtres. Sainte-Mary Church is a Romanesque building made of large granite blocks, with a two-storey comb-style bell tower. It is located on the heights of the village and offers a view over the Margeride; stairs provide access to the level of the bell tower.
Culture
The Croix des Prêtres stands near Sainte-Mary Church, opposite the former bread oven, on the heights of the village of Albaret-Sainte-Marie. The wrought-iron processional cross dates from 1837.
The Croix des Prêtres is also associated with a revolutionary event in 1794: on 27 May 1794, the priests Dumazel, Pierre, Vanel and Saint-Just, who were hiding in Albaret-Sainte-Marie, fled from the “patriots” of Saint-Chély.
Le Plus Petit Musée de France is housed in a restored former village bread oven. The history of the region and the village is told there through newspaper clippings, maps, drawings and tools. Admission is free and unrestricted all year round.
The open-air geological museum Le Géoscope is located at the Aire de la Lozère at Exit 32 of the A75 in the municipality of La Garde. Using 45 mega-rock samples, it illustrates the structure of the subsurface and the geological history of the Lozère département, including the basalt rocks of Aubrac, the granite of the Margeride, the limestone of the Causses and the mica schist of the Cévennes.

The circular mountain-bike route “Vers la Margeride – MTB No. 6” leads to Albaret-Sainte-Marie and recommends visiting the bread-oven museum there.
