History and Townscape
Restinclières emerged in the 12th century around the Church of Saint-Césaire in Restinclières, dedicated to Saint Caesarius of Arles. The church is a Romanesque building dating from the 12th century that was extended in the 14th and 15th centuries. During the Wars of Religion in the 16th century, the inhabitants of Restinclières sought refuge in Saint-Césaire Church. Restinclières is characterised by buildings made of Castries stone; the former stables have been converted into the Restinclières municipal library.
