Arboras: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Arboras is a village situated on a hill at the first foothills of the Larzac at an altitude of 250 m. The village has a historic centre and preserves the overall appearance it had at the end of the 18th century.

Culture

Today, after several restoration phases, the Château d’Arboras displays its elegant 17th-century form. As a historic monument, it is listed for all of its façades and roofs, its interior fittings with fireplaces featuring plaster decoration and ceramic fireboxes, as well as the heraldic floor of the tower on the first floor of the western section of the building.

Nature

Arboras is one of the municipalities in the Natura 2000 area of Hautes Garrigues du Montpelliérais. This area is designated as a Natura 2000 protected area of the Zone de protection spéciale type.

Mont Saint-Baudille is 837 m high and can be reached via the road leading to Arboras. From the summit platform of the Rocher des Vierges, the view extends to Mont Saint-Baudille and the Montagne de la Séranne.

Things to do

The circular trail at the Rocher des Vierges is 3 km long, takes 1 hour and 30 minutes, and is classified as very easy. The Parking du Rocher des Vierges car park in Les Moulins, 34150 Arboras, is available for the circular trail; from Saint-Saturnin, a 4 km-long asphalt track leads there towards the Rocher des Vierges.

Wine

The cellar in the northern courtyard of the Château d’Arboras offers tastings of the wines produced there. Domaine de la Réserve d’O organically and biodynamically farms 12 hectares of vines in the Causse d’Arboras, has its own tasting area, and offers tastings. Guided tours of Domaine de la Réserve d’O are also available by prior arrangement.

Domaine de l’Accent offers organic wines from the Terrasses du Larzac. Selected white, rosé, red and sparkling wines are tasted there free of charge.

Domaine Supply-Royer is a small winery in the rare IGP Mont Baudile appellation. It vinifies exclusively single-varietal wines from selected plots and ages them in wood.
