In Valergues, the Église Sainte-Agathe is the first sight to draw attention: it was probably built in a single construction phase at the end of the 11th or beginning of the 12th century. Its exterior decoration in the so-called Lombard style, featuring small columns, is particularly noteworthy. The exterior of the apse and the south wall of the nave have been listed as historic monument elements by decree since 22 July 1963.

Culture and History
The Château de Valergues is an 18th-century residential estate with a park laid out in the style of Versailles and a restored fountain known in the region as a “pouzaranque”.
Numerous ancient remains have been identified at the Sainte Aubine site in Valergues. In the 1st century AD, there may have been a villa there with a relatively luxurious residential area.
The historic salt route Camí Sala ran through Valergues along Rue Frédéric Mistral and connected the Salindres d’Exindres with Pont Saint Esprit. The former lime kiln Four à chaux des Jasses is an example of a lime-making technique and production process that was used over several centuries. It bears witness to a bygone era whose memory has in many ways already disappeared for the residents of the municipality.
Landscape and Trails
From the Tour de l’Horloge, the view extends across the old village, the newer buildings and the 519 hectares of the municipality of Valergues. Agricultural land stretches to the south, while forests, heathland and garrigue lie to the north.
The Noria is located in the park next to the Jardin des Cigales. Valergues is also home to the Parcours de santé J. Rieusset at 153, chemin de Bouisset. Cycle paths lead from Valergues towards Lansargues, Lunel-Viel and Mauguio.
Festivals
Votive festivals are held twice a year in Valergues and are organised by the Comité des Fêtes Lou Seden in cooperation with Valergues Town Hall. The Sainte Agathe festival takes place in winter, at the beginning of the first quarter.
During the festivals in Valergues, the village siren announces the beginning and end of events featuring bullfighting traditions such as Abrivado, Bandido and Encierro.
