Les Mages: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
The Eglise des Mages is located in the centre of Les Mages. Its façade features a 12-metre-high fresco painted by Jean Marc Fraisse in 2012. It tells the story of the Three Wise Men, who, according to tradition, are said to have passed through this village and given three gifts: the secret of olives, meaning olive oil; the secret of black stones, meaning coal; and the secret of the silkworms of the mulberry tree, meaning silk.
Renting a holiday apartment in Les Mages is one possible choice as part of your personal travel planning.
Culture
The Lavoir du Moinas is part of the village landscape. It was built in the 1930s and restored in 2012.
The Moulin à huile Rodier was already an olive oil mill in 1887. Olive oil is still produced there using traditional methods, including grinding with a stone mill, the use of scourtins and a hydraulic press. The mill is still in operation; visits to the mill and the olive grove are possible.
History
The Capitelle de la Tourette is a simple limestone hut built with mortar. In the past, it provided temporary shelter for farmers, their tools and agricultural produce. The Capitelle de la Tourette became a symbol of Les Mages.
Geographical setting
The Capitelle de la Tourette is located on a hill called La Tourette, which overlooks the village of Les Mages.
