Nature

The hiking route from Arpaillargues to the Capitelles of Blauzac follows a signposted path and reaches the dry-stone huts through a wooded area. The municipal route from Arpaillargues to the Roman bridge leads to the bridge via the Valat de Pontils. In addition, the municipal route “Tour des 5 Capitelles” leads visitors to the discovery of five dry-stone huts.
Culture
In the centre of Arpaillargues stands the Église Saint-Christophe, a Romanesque church dating from the 12th century. The Temple d’Arpaillargues is a Protestant temple of the Église protestante unie de France dating from 1838.
The Musée 1900 et ses jouets presents more than 5,000 objects across 1,600 m². The local cultural heritage also includes the Priape d’Aureilhac, a Gallo-Roman statue from the 2nd century AD. It is displayed in the entrance area of the town hall.
History
Around 120 dry-stone huts, known as Capitelles, have been counted in Arpaillargues-et-Aureillac; around 60 of them have been inventoried. At Pré des Mieres, there is a basin from Roman times that was discovered shortly before the year 2000.
The former fortified village church of Saint-Pierre d’Aureillac has since been converted into a dwelling. The Château d’Arpaillargues is an 18th-century manor house that became the Hôtel d’Agoult.
