Castelnau-Valence is centred around the medieval hamlet of Castelnau and its castle complex, dating from the 12th and 13th centuries. It comprises four towers: two round and two square ones. The Château de Castelnau-Valence was also built in the 12th and 13th centuries.
Today, the Château de Castelnau-Valence can no longer be visited; however, it can be seen from a hiking trail marked in yellow.

History
The Eolienne de Castelnau-Valence was built in 1901 to supply the village of Castelnau-Valence with water. It used the "des Pousets" spring, which supplied Castelnau-Valence and Saint-Dézéry with water. In 2002, the Eolienne de Castelnau-Valence was restored.
The Pierre de Rolland memorial on the D203 commemorates the death of the Camisard leader Pierre Laporte dit Rolland in 1704.
Nature
The Cade of Castelnau-Valence is said to be almost a thousand years old. It is 13 metres high and has a circumference of 4.55 metres.
The Cade of Castelnau-Valence stands about 200 metres south of the castle grounds, on the left-hand side of a small path at the place-name LAPARAN.
