Gagnieres: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
History and Culture
At the Musée de la Mine de Gagnières, visitors can explore independently or on a guided tour; audio guides are also available. The museum includes the Salle des pendus exhibition area as well as a reconstructed mine gallery with equipment from that era.
Several information panels along the Voie verte L’Échappée describe the mining history of Gagnières and the history of its former railway line. A railway in Gagnières was opened in 1871. From 1832 to 1929, there were around nine mine shafts there.
Nature and Trails
The Ganière, a gold-bearing river, separates four very different landscapes in four large bends.
Allow around two hours for the walk along the Parcours de Gagnières and for reading all the information panels. An online version is available via QR codes on the panels.
The section of the Voie verte L’Échappée that opened in 2022 connects Gagnières with Saint-Paul-le-Jeune over a distance of just over two kilometres. At the entrance on the Gagnières side, there is the “L’Échappée Belle” treasure hunt, which is open to everyone; a game booklet and pencils are provided there.
Those planning their stay in Gagnières specifically look for a holiday apartment to rent.
Stage and Evening Entertainment
Stage performances take place three times a month at Le Petit Théâtre de la Berthe. Actors, musicians, singers, artists and stage enthusiasts take part in these performances.
