Culture and history
The wooden market hall of Luzarches has been documented since the 14th century and was rebuilt in 1740. A weekly market is still held under the hall today.
The Château de la Motte includes one of the last medieval feudal motte castles in Val d’Oise, built around the year 1000. The original Château de la Motte defended the eastern entrance to the town centre of Luzarches.
A 2 km interpretation trail with twelve information panels presents the local history.
Nature
Near the centre of Luzarches lies the Vallon de Rocquemont, with 18 hectares of landscaped natural surroundings. The botanical garden contains 2,500 plants from more than 400 varieties. The Jardin botanique is a place for walks, discoveries and an introduction to nature.
