Culture

The Théâtre de la Poudrerie specialises in participatory theatre productions; the performances are created together with local residents.

The Musée numérique at Micro-Folie Sevran comprises 2,666 digitised works from major French, European and international museums, including the Louvre and the Opéra de Paris.

History

The Église Saint-Martin is one of the oldest buildings in Sevran. Archaeological investigations cautiously support the hypothesis that the site was already inhabited during the Merovingian period.

The former Sevran-Livry gunpowder works now house the Musée de la Poudrerie in the Parc forestier de la Poudrerie.

The Château du fief du Fayet is a country estate characteristic of the 18th century. General Bonaparte was a guest there, and Alfred Nobel was the estate’s most prominent owner.

The Friche Kodak was opened to the public in 2013 following extensive work to remediate contaminated land and redevelop the site. Events and walks are organised at the Friche Kodak.

Water and Recreation

Aquarena de Sevran is an aquatic centre with a 50-metre indoor pool, a 25-metre outdoor pool and a wellness area. Swimming lessons are offered at Aquarena. For relaxation, the facility has a sauna, a hammam and a jacuzzi.

The Canal de l’Ourcq evolved from a waterway used for transport into a place for leisure activities and boating.
