Culture
The Église St Pierre in Coupvray was first mentioned in 1136. Louis Braille was baptised at the Église St Pierre on 8 January 1809; the church also contains the tombstones of the Lords of Rohan.
The Maison natale de Louis Braille is classified as a historic monument and bears the « Maisons des Illustres » label. Visitors can try embossed writing there using a slate and stylus. The Musée Louis Braille bears the « Tourisme et Handicap » label; the certification guarantees an adapted welcome and appropriate facilities for people with visual or hearing impairments, as well as cognitive or intellectual disabilities.
Nature
The Parc du Château is a classified site and is open to the public free of charge every day except Mondays. In the park, you can stroll along the pond, view the castle ruins and admire the outbuildings and gardens.
The « Sur les pas de Louis Braille » sensory trail begins at the Garden of the Five Senses at the Maison natale de Louis Braille, runs 1.5 km through the village and is marked in red.
The historic surroundings also include the Ferme du Château, which is listed in the inventory of historic monuments.
