The present-day château in Vayres-sur-Essonne was built in 1920 on the site of an original 14th-century castle. It houses a chapel built by Jean de Veres in 1305; the château also includes a 15th-century dovecote.
The Église Saint-Martin contains a tomb slab with an engraved effigy dating from 1321, which has been protected as a historic monument since 1911. The church also has a high altar with a reredos dating from 1689, dedicated to Saint Martin.

Former watercress beds in Vayres-sur-Essonne have been transformed into publicly accessible marshland. Numerous springs can be seen along the circular trail. Their clear water feeds watercress beds, various streams and bodies of water.

The Balade aux étangs de Vayres-sur-Essonne is an easy 6.1-kilometre circular trail with a stated duration of two hours. The circular trail leads from the Chemin d’Orveau via the GR1 into the Bois de Misery and crosses a footbridge connecting Vayres-sur-Essonne with Boutigny-sur-Essonne.
La Cressonnière Sainte-Anne is open to the public when the farmers are present. A path beginning with a few steps leads to the Étangs Communaux de Vayres-sur-Essonne.
