Sampans's local heritage includes a washhouse and manor houses along the RD905. Sampans marble has enjoyed a good reputation since antiquity. Le Mont Roland – 100B is an easy, 7 km circular mountain-biking route in Sampans. There is a car park for this route at the Mont-Roland sanctuary in Sampans.

The Mont Roland sanctuary comprises a 19th-century church and can be reached via a Stations of the Cross trail. From Mont Roland, there are spectacular views of the Collegiate Church of Notre-Dame de Dole and the Church of Notre-Dame de Mont Roland.

The mountain-biking route at Mont Roland passes through dry grasslands characteristic of the area, with remarkable biodiversity. There is a nature trail at Mont Roland where the local flora and fauna can be observed. The route at Mont Roland lies on the routes to Santiago de Compostela.

Events

An annual flea market is held in Sampans. The sixth edition is organised by the Association La Boule Sampenoise.
