Quingey: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
Quingey lies on the banks of the Loue between limestone cliffs and green meadows. Above the village, the Côte de Moini is characterised by a wooded slope that borders the Loue’s floodplain. From the meadows of the ENS, the Bois de Moini route offers views of Quingey and the Loue Valley.

Nature and Trails
The Bois de Moini route begins and ends at the Roches car park above Quingey. Three circular hiking trails also start at the Côte de Moini, from the goat farm car park on the RD 13 towards Abbans-Dessus. They lead through calcareous grasslands and offer an experience of their characteristic flora and fauna as well as the history of the area. Walks and cycle rides are possible along the banks of the Loue near Quingey.
The connection between water and nature can also be seen in the centre: a fish pass has helped to preserve or increase the population of the endangered Apron.
History and Architectural Heritage
The former forges of Quingey, which later became a small metallurgy factory, are part of the town’s industrial heritage. The “molins” of Quingey are already mentioned in a document from 1477.
The comital castle of Quingey was built in the 13th century, remodelled in the 15th century, and has been listed as a Monument historique since 1991. It is also considered the presumed birthplace of Pope Callixtus II. The Church of Saint Martin was rebuilt in the 18th and 19th centuries and houses paintings signed by Giacomotti. The Chapel of the Brotherhood of the Cross dates from the 17th century.
The bridge over the Loue dates back to 1590 and was rebuilt slightly upstream in 1844. A one-hour guided tour entitled “Il était une fois… Quingey” is led by a female or male guide-conférencier.
