Mancenans: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Moulin de l’Abbaye, also known as the Abbaye des Trois Rois mill, has been documented since the second half of the 14th century and is a listed heritage site in Mancenans. From 1847, it comprised three pairs of millstones and a grater for grinding oily materials or textile fibres.

The Lizerne-le Friolais Comté cheese cooperative is also part of the local history: it operated in Mancenans from 1860 to 1978.

In Mancenans, the “La tournée des 3 Rois” route runs along Rue des Trois Tilleuls, Rue de l’Abbaye and Rue de la Voie Blanche. This moderately difficult circular hike is 18.7 km long, takes six hours and includes 370 m of ascent. Its themes are archaeology, history, heritage and views.

Hiking and Landscape

The Chapelle Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix overlooks the village of Mancenans and the Doubs Valley; from there, the view extends eastwards to the Vosges and Belfort, among other places. The “Un pays de sources” route is an easy 15 km circular hike lasting four hours and passes through Soye and Mancenans. On this route, a 1 km out-and-back trail leads from Soye to the chapel.
