The village of Canale-di-Verde lies at an altitude of around 450 metres on a ridge of Mont San’Appiano. It overlooks the plain and offers panoramic views of the Tyrrhenian Sea.

Culture

The Church of Saint Martin stands in the upper village of Canale-di-Verde. It is Baroque and has a bell tower. The frescoes and the statue of the Virgin Mary in the church were restored in 2010.

The Chapel of Saint Blaise is located in the hamlet of Pastrucciale. According to Mme Moracchini-Mazel’s assessment, the San Biaggiuque Chapel was built in the 10th century.

Traditions

The production of chestnut flour is part of Canale-di-Verde’s long-standing agricultural tradition. The Feast of Saint Blaise takes place on 3 February in the hamlet of Pastrucciale; the Feast of Saint Martin takes place on 11 November in the village.

Coast

Plage de Canale di Verde is an expansive sandy beach with fine sand on the east coast between San-Giuliano and Linguizzetta.

The Centre Equestre d'Eden offers horseback rides with or without swimming at the beach and adapts them to each family and riding ability.
