Olmiccia: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The entire area of Olmiccia belongs to the Parc naturel régional de Corse. The village is situated on a slope south of the former Pieve Tallano, at an altitude of between 330 and 380 metres above sea level. Olmiccia overlooks the left bank of the Rizzanese valley.

Landscape

In the Olmiccia plain, vineyards have covered approximately 35 hectares for nearly two centuries. Shepherds’ huts now stand on the hill where the former village of Frassetu was located, offering panoramic views of the region. The former village of Frassetu has been in ruins since the 16th century.

Culture and History

The Church of Sant’Ippolito e San Cassianu was built in the Romanesque style in the 14th century and remodelled in 1896. The Moulin du Risé mill was one of four former mills in Olmiccia.
