Vouzon: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Church of Saint-Pierre in Vouzon was first mentioned in a document in 1104.

History and Culture

On the night of 21–22 July 1887, a fire destroyed the Church of Saint-Pierre; only the bell tower’s masonry survived. The rebuilt church has a 42-metre-high bell tower.

During restoration work in 1985, painted beams were uncovered in Vouzon’s Old Presbytery. They are thought to date from the early 17th century. The beams are decorated with stencilled floral motifs such as tulips and vine leaves, as well as intertwined branches. The ensemble was protected as a historic monument by a decree dated 30 September 1989.

The Parcours de briques begins at Vouzon Town Hall and comprises a total of 12 signposted stops. It offers a special opportunity to discover Vouzon as a typical Sologne village with its brick buildings.

Circular Walks and Activities

Around Vouzon, there are about 10 circular walks proposed by the APPCV (Association for the Preservation of Vouzon’s Cultural Heritage). Circular Walk No. 3 is called “Les Noues froides et les étangs” and is 6 km long.

At Ball Trap du Rabot, instructors are available to advise and support participants along their course.
