Culture

Near the church stands the Manoir d'Ouchamps, which was the seat of the Seigneurie of Ouchamps. The Église Saint-Pierre has a pre-Romanesque nave incorporating reused sarcophagus stones from the 11th century. Its northern seigneurial chapel was built in the 16th century by Charles du Plessis.

The Moulin d'Ouchamps is also one of the six mills still visible that were fed by the Bièvre. Ouchamps also preserves tobacco-drying sheds, which are considered the only buildings of their kind in the Pays de la Vallée du Cher et du Romorantinais. In Ouchamps, the À travers les vignobles cycling loop passes former vineyard huts.

Nature

The Bièvre flows through the municipality of Ouchamps. The Plan d'eau d'Ouchamps is a six-hectare lake used year-round by numerous people for recreational fishing. It bears the “Parcours Famille” fishing label and has fishing platforms suitable for people with reduced mobility.

Hiking and Fishing

The La Chaumine hiking trail is a 10-kilometre circular route. The hike is described as easy and suitable for families. The circular route begins at the church car park in the centre of Ouchamps and passes the washhouse of the former Château de Savonnières, a feature of the architectural heritage. The route also passes the Bois de la Buzelière, a natural area along the trail.

At the Beuvron in Ouchamps, there is a 1,800-metre-long fishing section. Fishing is possible on the Bièvre in Ouchamps.
