Thilouze: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Culture

The Ensemble du château du Grand-Châtelet comprises a rectangular building with a cylindrical tower at each corner, as well as preserved moats. The ensemble, including its chapel, was classified as a historic monument by decree of 22 October 1962. The chapel adjoining the Ensemble du château du Grand-Châtelet has a nave with a ribbed vault and prismatic mouldings.

The Église Saint-Antoine also preserves several distinctive construction phases: its nave was rebuilt in the 12th century, the church has a square choir with a ribbed vault, and a side aisle added in the 16th century. The bell tower of the Église Saint-Antoine was listed as a historic monument by decree of 1 April 1959.

The Circuit découverte du petit patrimoine is a local circular trail for discovering the heritage of Thilouze.

Paths and landscape

The Sentier Balzacien starts in Thilouze at Espace Saint-Antoine behind the church and leads through the Indre Valley, wooded slopes and areas where basket willows are grown. The Ancienne voie romaine between Pont-de-Ruan and Thilouze once connected Tours and Poitiers.

Touraine Vallée de l’Indre offers 22 signposted hiking trails with a total length of around 293 kilometres.
