From the end of the 6th century, Orbigny was an important transit point for pilgrims travelling to Santiago de Compostela. Historic pilgrimage routes from Montrichard and Saint-Aignan converged here, meeting in front of the Église Saint-Vincent before continuing towards Montrésor and on to Châtillon-sur-Indre, Limoges and beyond.

Culture
The nave of the Église Saint-Vincent dates from the second half of the 11th century. On 28 October 1926, the nave was listed as a historic monument; the entire church was listed on 22 July 2022. The west portal stands out for its mouldings and capitals.

Hiking
The 17-kilometre circular hiking route in Orbigny begins at Place des AFN and returns to its starting point in Orbigny. The trail passes the operational Moulin de la Touche on the Olivet stream; the mill was used to grind grain. It also passes the Manoir de Ferté and points out the Beauchêne oak, which is 26 metres tall. At a height of one metre above the ground, its trunk has a circumference of 6.60 metres.
