Marray: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Marray presents its landscape on two levels: Haut Montas is 184 metres high and offers a panorama reaching as far as the Loire Valley; at the same time, the landscape is strongly characterised by bocage structures.

Nature and trails

The “Les Versants de la Dême” hiking trail is 16.5 km long, has two variants, is of medium difficulty and is marked in red; its duration is given as approximately four hours. It runs between woods, forests and fields on both sides of the valley.

The “Autour de la vallée de la Dême – Boucle à vélo n°32” cycling route starts in Marray, is 19.3 km long, easy and given as taking 1 hour 45 minutes. It runs along the Dême, whose ecological quality allows brown trout to thrive. The route also offers panoramic views of the Touraine landscape.

There is a picnic area at the Étang communal.

Culture and history

The Saint-Pierre Church in Marray is the only church in Touraine built from Roussard sandstone, a stone typical of northern Touraine.

The former Marray railway station preserves a water tank that was used to refill locomotive water tanks.

The Château de la Roche d’Alès features a dormer with a central mullion and a small figurative ornament on the gable; the château combines architectural styles from the 16th to the 19th century.

Local life

Marray’s monthly producers’ market takes place at Place de la Poste year-round on Fridays from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
