Braye-Sous-Faye: Holiday apartments and houses

In the centre of Braye-sous-Faye stands the Église Saint-Jean-Baptiste de Braye-sous-Faye, a church dating from the 12th century; it is located in the Bourg of Braye-sous-Faye.

Culture and townscape

A garden adjoins the Église Saint-Jean-Baptiste and surrounds the former presbytery, which dates from the 17th and 18th centuries. The garden areas, which have been designed since 1990, include a rose garden, perennials and summer flowers, espalier fruit trees, and a vegetable garden.

Traditions and events

The Fête du Bois du Temple is a traditional event in Braye-sous-Faye. The 41st edition includes a flea market, music, a market selling regional products, and a fireworks display.

Hiking trails and landscape

The “Chemin de la Collégiale” hiking trail is 19.4 km long, while the “À la découverte des moulins” hiking trail is 10.3 km long. The PR hiking trail “Chemin de la Collégiale” is also signposted in Braye-sous-Faye.

The “Braye-Sous-Faye – Sentier pédestre n°2” hiking trail is a moderately difficult circular hike covering 18.2 km, with a stated duration of four hours. The Sentier pédestre n°2 starts and ends at the car park of the multipurpose hall and passes through Braye-sous-Faye and Faye-la-Vineuse. In the immediate vicinity of Braye-sous-Faye, the Sentier pédestre n°2 runs along the southern side of the wall of the Domaine de Richelieu, leads to Mosson and the Étang Marnay, and reaches a windmill on the border with the Vienne département. The route passes through a pine forest and then through a deciduous forest.

A farm, the remains of a chapel, and a well have been preserved on Mosson’s former feudal hill.
