The Château Royal d'Amboise is the first royal residence of the French Renaissance. The tomb of Leonardo da Vinci is located in the chapel of the Château Royal d'Amboise.
The Château du Clos Lucé was Leonardo da Vinci's home during the last three years of his life. The Domaine Royal de Château Gaillard is the first Italian Renaissance château in France and is set in a 15-hectare forest in the centre of Amboise. It offers guided tours as well as self-guided visits with a map.
The Musée d'Art et d'Histoire d'Amboise is housed in a hôtel particulier built by Pierre Morin at the beginning of the 16th century. In 2002, it was awarded the designation “Musée de France”.

The Île d'Or in Amboise is designated as a natural area of ecological, faunistic and floristic interest (ZNIEFF). Loire birds such as terns, herons and great egrets can be observed along the banks of the Île d'Or.

The Petit Train d'Amboise offers a 40-minute narrated tour through the historic town centre, along the Loire and to the Renaissance châteaux. The route begins at Place Michel Debré opposite the Château Royal d'Amboise.
The Marché d'Amboise takes place every Friday and Sunday morning and offers local produce, regional specialities and wines. At the Marché d'Amboise, visitors can sample regional produce and exchange knowledge with local producers.
