Culture

In Nitry, most of the Église Saint-Christophe dates from the late 15th or early 16th century. The church features both pointed-arch windows with flamboyant tracery and round-arch windows with Renaissance-style tracery. The stained-glass windows in the nave and chapels date from 1872.

In the hamlet of Brionne, within the municipality of Nitry, there are structural remains of the village of Briennicum. The Lavoir de la Route de Chablis is also part of the built heritage: it lies below road level and can be reached via a staircase. The rectangular 19th-century washhouse has an elongated basin.

Those who choose Nitry as a place to stay may wish to rent a holiday apartment there.

Nature

Outside the village, the Fontaine des Champs lies in a valley at a spring outlet. According to tradition, the spring is attributed with healing properties. During dry periods, the Fontaine des Champs remained in operation until the introduction of the water supply.

In Nitry, the Fontaine des Champs is part of the Chablis Tonnerrois heritage plaques. During walks through Nitry, visitors can scan these heritage plaques to obtain information about the surrounding cultural heritage.
