The Église Saint-Pierre Saint-Paul dates from the 12th to the 15th century and combines Burgundian Romanesque architecture with Gothic art. Its low nave and large, richly ornamented choir define the church building. Since 8 July 1911, the church has been classified as a Monument historique. A guide is available for visitors in four languages; from 2008 onwards, the Église Saint-Pierre Saint-Paul was opened in summer. The Amis du Patrimoine organise concerts there every year.

Nature
Ligny-le-Châtel is part of the ZNIEFF area Forêt de Pontigny et vallée du Serein aval. Hiking trails around the town pass through vineyards, forests, meadows and fields. The banks of the Serein are a natural feature of interest to visitors in Ligny-le-Châtel.
Several named routes begin in Ligny-le-Châtel: Le tour des vignes is a circular route, La randonnée des Fées is a hiking trail, La balade des Prés-du-Bois is a walking route, and Les deux côteaux du Serein is another hiking trail.
Culture
There are three washhouses in Ligny-le-Châtel. The large washhouse is located opposite the Église Saint-Pierre Saint-Paul and is considered an emblematic building. The Calvaire Saint-Hubert, also known as the Croix de Montmorency, is located at the entrance to the Ferme des Comtés on the D121. It dates from the late 18th century and was restored in 2003.
The Bief still follows its original course today along the town’s western fortification wall. Recent archaeological excavations in Ligny-le-Châtel have brought Neolithic remains to light.
Local
Since 30 April 2021, the covered market in Ligny-le-Châtel has welcomed around fifteen local producers and craftspeople. It offers organic produce, a bakery, honey, prepared foods, mushrooms, cow’s and goat’s cheese, poultry, beef, beer and eggs. A florist, a ceramicist and a seamstress are also regularly present at the covered market.
Activities
The Société de pêche La Vandoise du Serein is Ligny-le-Châtel’s local fishing association. La Vandoise du Serein manages a fishing area encompassing Pontigny, Héry, Ligny-le-Châtel, Maligny, Villy and La Chapelle-Vaupelteigne.
