Culture and History
The menhir “La Pierre à Colon” has been classified as a historic monument since 1889 and is located in the Bois-Communaux of Les Sièges. The village’s old houses are also distinctive in their construction: they are made of flint bonded with sand and lime mortar.
A landscaped circular path allows visitors to walk around Les Sièges along the ditches of the former fortifications dating from the 16th century. The bridge in the Louis XV style was built from the remains of the fortified gate.

“Autour de Les Sièges – La Pierre Collon” is a 10-kilometre circular hiking trail with a walking time of 3 hours. On the “La Pierre Collon” circular route, the menhir is reached via the “Vallée aux coqs” forest path; it is located about 100 metres from the indicated turnoff.
“Les Sièges par les champs” is a hiking route. It begins at the Church of Saint-Cyr-et-Sainte-Julitte.

The 379-hectare Les Sièges forest is crossed by well-maintained avenues that make hiking easier.
