Water
The Burgundy Canal passes through Chassignelles. The town's lock complex belongs to the section of the Burgundy Canal that was opened to navigation in 1832. The Chassignelles lock was extended from 1879 onwards as part of its adaptation to the Freycinet standard.

Culture
The lock keeper's house in Chassignelles is built in the Foucherot style and has a rectangular floor plan. The village washhouse is a 19th-century impluvium washhouse. It was built in 1837 below Lock 79, is partly underground, and has a rectangular floor plan with a central basin that is also rectangular.
The Church of Saint John the Baptist in Chassignelles preserves wall paintings that were restored between 2004 and 2008. A dedicated landing place was used to ship stone from the Chassignelles factory.
Nature
The Armançon River also passes through Chassignelles. At the entrance to Chassignelles, on the road to Ancy-le-Franc, there is a remarkable white mulberry tree.
On the Way
The Ancy-le-Franc–Montbard section of the Le Tour de Bourgogne à vélo cycle route runs as a greenway along the towpath beside the Burgundy Canal and passes through Chassignelles. On this section, Chassignelles is listed as a place of interest with a church and washhouse.
The church can be visited in July and August on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
