Culture and history
The Église Saint-Louis de Chaumot dates back to the 15th century. It is recognizable by its massive bell tower from the 18th century. The large Château de Chaumot was probably built in 1750 by Paul Delpech and destroyed during the French Revolution. The château included a large French-style park, in which the beautiful springs were used as the main feature.

In the vicinity of Chaumot are the Musées de Sens museum, the Cathédrale Saint-Étienne de Sens historic site, and the Abbaye de Saint-Jean-lès-Sens historic site. The wider regional area also includes the Château de la Grêve and the Haut des Beautés hill.
Nature and trails
The springs of the Ru de Bourienne rise at the foot of the village of Chaumot. According to legend, they were created beneath the lance of King Saint Louis.
The hiking route “De la Haute Epine à la Fontaine Rouge” passes through the landholdings of the Legs Thénard. These landholdings extend across five municipalities, including Chaumot.
